What did we do for Christmas? Let's see...
We peeled and ate pomegranates with Grandma (yum, yum!)
The architects and designers built and decorated (and ate) a gingerbread house. This was our first year to do this. It has been on the list for many years, especially since we have this awesome mold from J's parents. It took a visit from them for us to bring it out and use it. We spent two days on it - making the dough and baking it on day 1 and then assembling and decorating on day 2. New tradition? You betcha!

We played lots and lots of games. Grandpa taught us a few new chess moves, to get S ready for chess club.

We visited the Garden D'Lights. Amazing creations, and awe-inspiring. Are we going to replicate this at home? Uh, no.
We put out stockings and treats for Santa. And yes, of all the pictures we took that evening, this is the best. And no, baby J isn't crying, he is yelling. In every picture.

Santa did come. He brought comic books, and a toy for each child, and a few yummies too!
We opened presents too, and said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa, who had to catch a flight back home. G loved her cape, cloak and scepter. S loved baby J's dashboard. Baby J eventually got to play with the dashboard too (a few days later) and now likes to leave it on as background noise in the house. He'll turn it on, put it in reverse (cue beeping noises) and then wander off to do something else. If I go turn it off, moments later he appears to turn it back on, set it in reverse and then goes back to what he was doing. We are glad that the batteries are now worn out!
Belated Merry Christmas to all!

You've got to love gingerbread houses! We tried the "homemade" route too this year, but ours did not turn out nearly as beautiful!
