Snowing (!) in May?

We went on a walk in the nearby woods this morning and were excited to discover "snow." It was really cottonwood seeds from some nearby trees, but that made it even more exciting.  One child filled half her pockets with "cotton" ("I love cotton!  Its so soft!  I just love it soooo much!")  One slid down a little hill and got his bottom all muddy.  One found a decaying log, and helped it shed some bark to hunt for worms.  All carried sticks, dragged them in the path, and banged them on everything they could.

On the way home all three kids said they had lots of fun, which was music to my ears, since none of them had wanted to leave the house.  More hikes for us!
