Vancouver trip

We had a short but fun trip to Vancouver. Highlights were the Langley Super 8 (indoor pool with waterslide!), the temple open house, and Fort Langley. We came out of the temple at dusk, and the views were spectacular. And this was the best of the pictures that the volunteer took for us. Totally not in focus. Oh well. The next morning J and the big kids went swimming and sliding, while baby J napped and I packed us up.

We headed to Fort Langley and had an awesome time. Beautiful weather for exploring, almost no one else there, and plenty of space for the kids to run. We started out with the introductory movie. Family, it reminded me of "I am the Cumberland Gap." Only slightly less cheesy. We moved on to the lookout towers with slits for guns. G and S decided to play World War II, with the Germans fighting the navy. Everyone loved the barrel rolling races. G loved the geography exhibit. She rearranged the coastlines, the rivers, all the boats and animals. She even chose a favorite "wolfie." S liked all the guns in the trading exhibit (not pictured.) We ended our visit with lunch at a 50s diner, gelato and a visit to a local playground so baby J could eat before we hit the road.
