Was a very hot day. At bedtime everyone's bedroom was still super hot. The kids tried and tried to go to sleep, but no one could get comfortable. So we gave up, and took books outside on the patio to read until it got too dark to see. The kids enjoyed the special night outside, and fortunately there were almost no bugs. It was a fun evening, and when we went back inside the kids all went right to sleep.
It was one of those nights where I felt like a good mom -- didn't get mad about them not falling asleep and just rolled with it.
