The Rest of July

I'm slogging my way through our summer here in blogland, trying to catch up so that I can post about our summer vacation in mid August. Other things we did this summer included raspberry and blueberry picking (and jam making,) a family hike, a visit to the Science Center and playing in the Fountain nearby. And, we survived the late July heat wave. That's the short version.
The highlight for me was the international center fountain. The kids had never been there before, and we stopped by after visiting the science center. It was an incredibly hot day, and the water felt great. S and G loved running close and far with the water chasing them. It was the perfect way to end a hot week. We made it through the rest of the hot days thanks to the window air conditioner we install in our bedroom. The kids and I even ate dinner in there one night! We all slept in the one cool room for several nights, which was a fun pseudo camping experience.
