In early August we headed into Seattle for Seafair Fleet week. We got to tour the USS Green Bay - an amphibious assault craft. Despite the long rainy wait, the kids had a great time. There were helicopters to climb aboard (with their pilots there to answer questions.) We got to see the ship hospital, the mess hall, and the bridge (even sit in the captain's chair and check out the helm.) It ended with a group of marines and their gear - and even a machine gun to try "firing". Do you think anyone in my family had fun?
