On our last full day of vacation, we drove down to Ocean Shores. There was a sand castle contest, which we thought might be interesting, and a mini golf place that we thought we might try. The sand castles (sculptures really) were amazing, and J took pictures of some of them.
While he took photos, S and G and I walked the beach. They were in and out of the water, chasing and running from the waves - first getting their toes wet, then up to their ankles. Then they asked me to roll up their pants so they could wade in deeper, up to their knees. Then someone sat down, someone fell over, and by the time we left, we had two kids soaking wet and covered in sand. Thankfully, we had a change of clothes for each of them in the car.
We spend so long at the beach that we ran out of time for mini-golf, which was okay with everyone.
Still mostly dry here. G is clutching the flowers she picked on the way to the beach, and a seagull feather.

Those sand castles are amazing. I should have seen those before our Bear Lake trip. Maybe our castles would have been more impressive. :) Hope you guys had a fun summer. One of these days we'll get up there to see you. We LOVE the NW. So pretty!
