From May 2012: A few weeks ago I took S and G to the school playground on the weekend. There were a few boys practicing baseball on the field and S was interested in watching. Before I knew it, he had scaled the chain link backstop up 15 feet in the air! He called out, Look Mom! I went Aaah - Get down! This is not a safe spot to climb.
And so today we went to a parent/child climbing class at a local rock wall. S had a great time climbing. Not as easy as chain link fence. Really fun. And somehow, I got a belay card. Yes, I'm now certified to belay poor victims up a 33 foot climbing wall. Who'da thunk it?
