Pod Races

One of the only parts of the Star Wars movies the kids have seen is the pod races section. And they love the idea of races. So now we hear,

"Kitchen, dining room, ottoman 3 times! Ready? Go!" - said by S or G.

And we've heard it many, many times in our house these past few weeks with everyone in the house on cold blustery days. These kids love to run, and thanks to J and the movie's influence we now have near daily pod races in our house. S is Anakin. G is "good" Sebulba (a contrast to the Sebulba in the movie.) J is R2 pod racer. I am usually Padme (not that she is a pod racer, but G chooses this role for me.) And we run, and run and run. S is not exactly a good loser (tears, yelling, "you cheated!," etc.) but he's learning the idea of trying to catch up.

G loves to carry something while racing, so we hear "Good Sebulba is wunning wif a book!" Fortunately she is not bothered by losing, so being weighed down doesn't bother her.

Now to teach the babysitters... since G's plan for all babysitters is, "we will play Star Wars, and then we will play Sodor, and then we will play Radiator Springs, and then we will have pod races." Poor babysitters don't know to wear their workout clothes to our house.
